Presentation of Krasnodar region in Sweden

The solid contractual and legislative basis of Russian-Swedish relations includes more than 50 inter-state and inter-business agreements and in the near future it will be augmented by a further 10 agreements. The Swedish portfolio of investments in the Russian economy is valued at approximately $8 billion. The value of two-way trade turnover in 2007, according to Federal Customs statistics, amounted to $5.8 billion, an increase of one third. The Russian-Swedish company Tetra-Pak Kuban (in Krasnodar Region) has already been working successfully in the territory of Krasnodar Region for 15 years, and is an excellent example of partnership. Krasnodar Region is ready to offer Swedish businessmen a whole range of promising, well developed projects in various fields of the economy of the Region. At the world economic forum in Davos Krasnodar Region was named the most attractive region in Russia to investors. The rate of growth in investment of fixed capital through the Region for 2007 was 126% compared to the 2006 level (for Russia this indicator was 121%), and the amount invested totaled $9 billion. 13% of this amount, $715 million, came from foreign investors. Over the last six years approximately $2.8 billion of foreign investment has been made in the Region. Krasnodar Region consistently holds first place in the Southern Federal District for volume of investment. The Region is ready today to present 1600 projects worth €12 billion to potential partners. With the object of further development of trade and economic cooperation between Krasnodar Region and the Kingdom of Sweden, Krasnodar Region Administration under the auspices of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to hold Presentations of Krasnodar Region in Stockholm on 19 May 2008. The presentation will start with Conference:" Discovering south of Russia. Krasnodar region's potential and perspective of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Sweden", afterwards Round tables, Branch Presentations and discussions will take place on topics of: Industry and Innovations, Architecture and Town-planning, Finance and Stock Market, Fuel and Energy Complex The Presentation will show high investment potential and prospects for the future in the following fields: industry, fuel and energy complex, construction and architecture, housing and utilities infrastructure. The program envisages conference and round tables.
The Presentation of Krasnodar Region will be held on 19 May 2008 at 10:00 in the building of the Berns Hotel, Kammarsalen (Nackstromsgatan, 8 SE-111 47 Stockholm).
